A PLUS PRPJEKT LTD / NORTH SHORE CULINARY SCHOOL and our educational model would like to break the cycles of Poverty, Hunger and Food Waste through innovative programs in the workforce training area, healthy food preparation and social impact. Our focus is Community and how food supports our Community on all levels.ring company. A true social enterprise was born, this organization uses proceeds from retail operations, in this case, restaurant (NSCS Discovery Café at Jericho Beach), concession kitchen (Mahon Park), Catering Company (http://www.culinarychoreography.com) and meal programs for marginal adults (at a resource centre Vancouver where we produce 1750 meals weekly), to fund a large social benefit; a sustainable way to end unemployment, homelessness and subsidized housing for the poor. At its core, the intent is to help others, by teaching them to help themselves through the acquisition of life skills and much sought after trade culinary skills. (in 2016 statistics show shortage of entry level cooks International, this is our way of contributing to the demand) Students come to the program primarily through referrals from other nonprofit organization and agencies.To date there have seen 274 graduates from the program and many have gone onto promising careers at established Vancouver eateries. With follow-up research indicates a post-graduate employment rate over 87%! We understand hunger isn’t just about food; hunger is a symptom of poverty. Our Business would like to change this, and we work at it every day all year long.
