About Us
Capilano Community Services Society is a registered non-profit society serving the three municipalities on the North Shore: the District and City of North Vancouver, as well as the District of West Vancouver. The organization began in 1970 as a grassroots response to the needs of the Lower and Upper Capilano Area for support to both youth and seniors in the community.
Today, we continue to serve a large number of North Shore residents through targeted outreach Youth Programs, Seniors' Hub Programs, and the Red Cross Health Equipment Loan Program. We also provide administrative support services to five other non-profits who rent space in the same building. With a small staff and a budget of $400,000, we rely heavily on individual, community and business donations, as well as municipal, provincial gaming, and federal funding. With the direction of our Board Members and over 200 volunteers, we recently celebrated more than 40 years of service to the community.
