About Us

Terry is our Member of Parliament for Burnaby North-Seymour, having been elected in the 2015, 2019, and 2021 General Elections. He is also the Minister of Citizens’ Services. Before being elected, Terry was a small business owner, educator, city councillor, and a community advocate. In Ottawa, he has served as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Science, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Fisheries, Oceans, and the Canadian Coast Guard, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Transport, and the first-ever Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages (B.C.).

Terry is committed to being our community’s voice in Ottawa, not Ottawa’s voice in our community. Terry meets face-to-face with every constituent who requests a meeting, regularly hosts community coffee meetings, roundtables, and town halls, sends out monthly feedback surveys, and has knocked on every door in the riding multiple times. He is deeply committed to making sure everyone in Burnaby and North Vancouver has the opportunity to determine what is best for our community. His focus on community engagement is widely known, and it’s why Members of Parliament from all parties voted him Parliamentarian of the Year for Civic Outreach in 2018. he is recognized nationally as the “Best Constituency MP” and nominated for “Hardest Working MP” by the Hill Times.
